What is this type of insurance?

This is a comprehensive travel insurance program to cover the traveler during a trip for leisure or business purposes outside of the usual country of residence. The policy can be issued for one person or for a group of people (ex: family members).

What is insured?

The product is offered with 4 options of limit of liability/ cover, BUDGET, ESSENTIAL, SUPERIOR and ELITE with the below benefits

What is not insured?

-Events arising from terrorism, mutiny or crowd disturbances

-Events or actions of the Armed Forces or Security Forces in peacetime

-Wars, with or without prior declaration, and any conflicts or international interventions using force or duress or military operations of whatever type

-Those caused by or resulting from radioactive materials and nuclear energy

-Those caused when the Insured takes part in bets, challenges or brawls, save in the case of legitimate defence or necessity

-Illness or Injuries existing prior to the claim

-Those that occur as a result of the participation by the Insured in competitions, sports, and preparatory or training tests

-Engaging in the following sports: motor racing or motorcycle racing in any of its modes, big game hunting outside European Territory, underwater diving using artificial lung, navigation in international waters in craft not intended for the public transport of passengers, horse riding, climbing, pot holing, boxing, wrestling in any of its modes, martial arts, parachuting, hot air ballooning, free falling, gliding and, in general, any sport or recreational activity that is known to be dangerous, Participation in competitions or tournaments organised by sporting federations or similar organisations, Hazardous winter and/or summer sports such as skiing and/or similar sports, Claims that may cause in the Usual Country of Residence of the Insured Person, The use, as a passenger or crew, of means of air navigation not authorised for the public transport of travelers, as well as helicopters, The Accidents deemed legally to be work or labour Accidents, consequence of a Risk inherent to the work performed by the Insured

-Internationally and locally recognized epidemics (unless is stated in the Benefits Schedule). This Exclusion is not valid for the cover of Cancellation or Cancellation of Travel (Section 2 - Cancellation and Curtailment of Travel Abroad)

-Illnesses or Injuries arising from chronic ailments or from those that existed prior to the inception date of the policy

-Death as a result of suicide and the Injuries or after-effects brought about by suicide and/or attempted suicide or any self-inflicted Injuries

-Illness, Injuries or pathological states caused by the voluntary consumption of alcohol, drugs, toxic substances, narcotics or medicines acquired without medical prescription, as well as any kind of mental Illness or mental imbalance

-Illness or Injuries resulting from refusal and/or delay, on the part of the Insured or persons responsible for him/her, in the transfer proposed by the Assistance Company and agreed by its medical Service -Illness or Injuries caused by pregnancy and childbirth or any complication therefore or voluntary termination of pregnancy

-Mental Health diseases -Venereal sexually transmitted diseases -All pre-existing, congenital and/or Chronic Medical Conditions -Any cardiac or cardio vascular or vascular or cerebral vascular Illness or conditions or after-effects thereof or complications that, in the opinion of a medical practitioner appointed by the Assistance Company, can reasonably be related thereto, if the Insured Person has received medical advice or treatment (including medication) for hypertension 2 years prior to the commencement of the Protected Journey -Diagnosis and treatment services for complication of excluded illnesses -Travelling to seek medical treatment or waiting for an operation, post operation check-up or any other hospital treatment, or any medical investigations, tests or test results

-Travelling against the advice of a doctor or considered not fit to travel by the assistance company -Travelling to seek immigration or political asylum Full reference to what is not insured is provided to the Insurance Policy Are there any restrictions on cover? ! the deductible or excess that is the amount of expenses which is not Covered by the Company, and that are to be paid by the Insured Person before the Benefits become payable Full reference for the restrictions on cover is provided to the Insurance Policy

Where am I covered?

-applies on the geographic area where the covered trip takes place as described in the certificate of insurance What are my obligations? -Provide all the information required from any Company document with honesty and clarity

-Payment of premium in full to the Company at the inception of the Policy

-Take all necessary measures to avoid or minimize damage or harm

-Notify the Company of any claim the soonest possible

-Providing all the relevant claim related information, to the Company

-Comply with all your Policy’s conditions

When and how do I pay?

The premium should be paid in full to the Company at the inception of the Policy with cheque, cash, bank transfer, debit/credit card

When does the cover start and end?

The period that commences and ends on the dates stated on the Certificate of the Policy. The scope of the Policy becomes void when the travel causing the acquisition of the Policy ends and/or the Insured Person arrives at his/her Usual Country of Residence, whichever takes place first. Period of Cover granted under this Policy shall not exceed 90 consecutive days each travel and for annual multi trip up to 30 consecutive days per trip How do I cancel the contract? If this cover is not suitable for the Insured Person and the Insured Person wants to cancel the policy, then a written notification must be submitted within 14 days of issuing of the policy. When the notification submitted as described then a full refund of the premium will be made unless a claim is raised. In case of bank transfer, it declared and agreed that the Insured Person will bear the bank transfer costs.
